Expanding the Circle of Compassion

“End Genocide Now” beach photoshoot this Saturday (Sep 6th)

Our photo at the beach in Corona Del Mar last year

Hi Everyone,

The END GENOCIDE NOW! beach photoshoot at Inspiration Point – Corona del Mar is this coming Saturday Sep 6, 9:30am – sharp!

*  RSVP
The advance head count is really helpful to us. If you plan to be there and haven’t done so yet, please register on line.

*  Meet up spot
Look for the grassy area on Ocean Blvd at intersection with Orchid Ave. Follow the pathway down to the beach. Please check in at our registration table halfway down the hill. We will assign your placement in the photo and ask for your signature to accompany photo / poster to the President. (From PCH in either direction, take Marguerite toward the beach. After left turn on Ocean, follow it to Orchid. Find parking on Ocean or any of the side streets.)

*  Be early!
We will be starting promptly at 9:30am on the beach and need everyone there before we start. Please plan to arrive 20 – 30 minutes early to allow time for parking, check in and walking down the path down to the beach.

*  Wear black or dark colors if possible

*  Bring water and sunscreen

We are grateful to have the following speakers joining us to share very brief words of inspiration at the start of the event:

  • Fr. Wilfredo Benitez – St. Anselm’s – G.G. / O.C. Interfaith Council President (also our photographer!)
  • Steve Young – Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress – 48th District
  • Rev. Mark Whitlock – COR-AME – Irvine

[We also invited U.S. Congressman John Campbell, but it is doubtful that he will be able to join us]

If anyone wants to participate but is uncomfortable lying down in the sand, please come anyway! We hope for enough people to spell the phrase in the sand and have additional people standing in the background as part of the photo.

See you Saturday!

Barbara
