Expanding the Circle of Compassion

Horse Festival for Peace

61Darfur tribal leaders recently gathered together for a traditional equestrian festival with an agenda aimed at securing peace for the region. The forum was attended to by top Arab and African leaders. The festival dates back to the 1920’s. However, this year’s marks the first in nearly fifty years.

The festival speaks to the perseverance and resolve of the people of Darfur – singing, dancing, horse racing, and fighting for reconciliation in the face of adversity.
