Expanding the Circle of Compassion

There’s a lot happening in Living Ubuntu! Join us tonight.

Hi everyone,

There’s a lot happening in Living Ubuntu!

Here’s what we’re currently working on:

And there’s more…

  • We are making future plans for training refugee leaders to get certified in TRE to eliminate language barriers in future within-the-community trauma recovery programs.
  • We are also looking ahead to replicate the TRE research in additional refugee, immigrant, genocide-surviving and other under-served communities.
  • Our recent TRE Level I Certification Training resulted in several who live locally that are in the process of getting certified. This means there will be more people available to help out in future projects, and we will be offering more trainings in 2015.
  • We are going to be making a documentary about PTSD too – we want to increase understanding about trauma and recovery while also raising visibility of under-recognized populations.
  • And – here’s the BIG ULTRA EXCITING NEWS from yesterday – Dr. David Berceli (creator of TRE) will come to Orange County the 3rd weekend in January to give a TRE workshop as part of Living Ubuntu’s 10th birthday celebration – woo-hoo!

We are very excited about all of it!

Join us — donate to us — and we will be able to do even more.

Every time someone gives a donation of time or money – it really helps a lot. We would love to have you join our team – your skill set doesn’t matter as we could use help with a lot of things, and seriously — sometimes just having one more interested person in the room to help hold the energy is enough to make a huge difference in us being able to sustain momentum.

Our planning meeting is tonight. Please consider joining us – or for those not local – you can call in. The details are below.

P.S. Don’t forget this weekend is the People’s Climate March – September 20-21.

With gratitude,
