Climate Rally and March — November 29 (and other upcoming events)

Hi everyone,

I know, I know, we haven’t even had Halloween yet, so it’s just too soon to talk about Thanksgiving, right? But, there’s something really important happening on the Sunday after Tofurky Thursday, so get your calendar ready.

The international organization, Avaaz, has called for the biggest global day of action on climate in history to commence on Sunday, November 29, the eve of the critically important Paris climate talks.

Orange County for Climate Action (OCCA) is organizing a climate rally and march November 29. It’ll be in the afternoon at the Irvine Spectrum. Some of the details are still getting worked out, so watch for more info soon. For now, please note the date, put it on your calendar, and if at all possible, plan to join us — and bring lots and lots of friends.

Climate is an issue that needs everybody in. The international agreements are currently nowhere near what they need to be to keep us safe. Transitioning away from fossil fuels and animal agriculture needs to be taking place at the individual-collective level also — so please keep re-examining your own lifestyle to see what else you can do.

There are some additional great events coming up in November. The SoCal VegFest is this weekend — first time ever for something like this in the OC! The following weekend, our OCCA walk team still has room for YOU to join us in the November 8 Walk for Farm Animals to help support the critically important work that Farm Sanctuary is doing. And Friday Cinema agreed to screen “This Changes Everything” in OC 10 days before our climate rally to help build support for this effort. All details on these items and more are listed below.
