Expanding the Circle of Compassion

Food economics: What if the world went vegan? | April events

Hi everyone,

Did you see the recent Al Jazeera video, entitled, Food economics: What if the world went vegan? – Counting the Cost? It is well-worth watching if you haven’t seen it – changing how we eat would have some pretty remarkable results!

Speaking of food, Golden West College’s 10th Annual Peace, Justice & Sustainability Conference, “Regenerative Peace: Sustaining Our Work, Communities, Environment and Selves in Service,” is coming up very soon – it’s time to register! Food Democracy will be one of many key issues discussed at the Earth Day – Friday, April 22 event, plus the conference fee ($25) includes a vegan breakfast and lunch. The event is also zero-waste. All of the incredible topics and speakers can be found on the registration site.

And then, the next morning, Saturday, April 23, we will continue the conversation and take it even deeper. Join us for Earth Day at Soka University with Gene Baur: Eating in Harmony with our values. Register here for this free event with the option to pre-order the ($10) vegan picnic lunch. If you have been to this beautiful campus, you already know it sits atop the Aliso Wood Canyon Wilderness Park, an idyllic spot to connect with each other outside on the lawn after Gene’s talk.

Plus – the free pre-conference event at Orange Coast College on Thursday April 14, A Screening of Racing Extinction register here.

Scroll down for the complete list of upcoming meetings and events.

I am very excited about these events – I hope to see you often.

Thank you for staying engaged,
