World Leaders Speak Out
Citizens worldwide continue to express their concern about the Darfur crisis. Now, it appears that those citizens’ leaders are also lending their voices.
This week has seen prominent world leaders calling for a resolution to the fighting, killing, and chaos.
French president Nicolas Sarkozy, after meeting with Sudanese president Omar Al-Bashir, stated that the “Darfur tragedy has gone on for too long” and that the “people of Darfur have the right to live”.
United Arab Emirates president Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan called for “efforts for finding a viable solution for the difficult humanitarian situation in Darfur”.
The people are certainly talking. Is anyone listening?
