OC for Darfur meeting on Tuesday, Dec 9th

Hi everyone,

I hope you will join me tomorrow at our last OC for Darfur meeting of 2008.

We’ll discuss:
–  Our “In Darfur” play
–  Lobbying our Congressmen for more action on Darfur
–  OCERS divestment campaign

In preparation for the play, a bunch of us will be visiting a Darfuri women who was a refugee in the Kalma Camp this Saturday.  I was amazed to hear all the things she’s been through to get to the United States.  If you’d like to hear more about her, come by the meeting tomorrow.

For our visit, we were hoping to bring her some gifts.  She has three girls (age 8, 9 and 10), two boys (age 1 and 4) and a teenager.  The kids are learning English and love to read.  If you have any children’s books or toys (used is ok) that you are willing to donate, please let me know. Gift cards to grocery stores, Target etc. are also helpful.
